Writing Analysis Platform Authors AI Releases Major New Features
Marlowe 2.0 designed to help fiction authors improve their storytelling
SAN FRANCISCO, June 7, 2021 – Today Authors A.I. announced major enhancements to its manuscript analysis tool with the release of Marlowe 2.0. The company’s A.I. program provides a 32-page full-color critique of an author’s novel within five minutes.
Specifically tailored to meet the needs of aspiring and established authors, enhancements to the Marlowe 2.0 Pro report include:
Comps — “Since our launch, authors have been asking to see which bestsellers are comparable to their novel,” said Alessandra Torre, CEO of Authors A.I. “Now they’ll see how their story stacks up against four top-selling titles so they can see if they’re on the right track.” Marlowe 2.0 compares a manuscript to four bestsellers with similar plot threads or writing styles.
Story beats — The reports are now visually more actionable with graphs that indicate the placement of major positive beats, or action scenes, and “conflict beats,” or setbacks for the protagonist.
Emotional color wheel — Marlowe 2.0 includes a new component that gives authors a sense of whether or not they’re veering too far from reader expectations by tracking the percentage of key emotions included in their novels.
Context — Marlowe lets authors know how often they’ve used certain cliches, phrases and adjectives as well as how often they’re used in best-selling titles.
“These updates represent a major advance for Marlowe,” said Torre, who’s also a bestselling romance and suspense author. “Marlowe’s analysis capabilities are a game-changer for authors looking to write stories that readers love — all for under $30 a month.”
Authors A.I., at the website authors.ai, also offers a free Marlowe Basic report that lets authors see their manuscript’s readability score, dialogue vs. narrative usage, explicit words, passive verb choice, misspellings and more.
