She received her MFA from Penn State and her MA in English Literature from the University of Edinburgh. She has taught creative writing at Manhattanville College, Writopia. and Silvermine Arts Center. She currently teaches a course on novel writing at The Westport Writers’ Workshop. Although she was born and raised in sunny southern Africa, she now lives in Connecticut, where she has learned to love snow days. If you’re interested in working with her, she will first read a sample of your work, and will then discuss whether you’re looking for a manuscript assessment (a one-page response to your novel, identifying problem areas and opportunities for revision), a developmental edit (more detailed feedback on plot, character, pacing, and marketability), or a copyedit (line-by-line editing of language usage, continuity, etc.).
